Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Ms. Martinez and I will be your child’s third grade teacher! The start of our brand new school year is right around the corner and the third grade team thanks you for joining forces with us to ensure an amazing start to the 2020 school year!
On my Lyndhurst Schools teacher page will be important references or resources to get the 2020 school year started. Please note the side links while you navigate as student schedules and helpful websites can be found there. You can access my teacher page by clicking this link: https://www.lyndhurstschools.net/6/olc/326
The student schedule mainly maps out the times in which I plan to hold zoom sessions with students. Core subjects are listed and the time frames are important to consider in terms of when attendance must be submitted, specials start times as well as extra help opportunities via a zoom session. You may notice that on Wednesday and Fridays, the first period of the day entails extra help. I will be available to answer any student questions on concepts that may be unclear or any concerns he or she may have. If your child is all ready to start their morning, they may use this time to catch up on any work from the day prior. J There are also extra help opportunities at the end of the day.
At the end of the day you will notice office hours. This will be time set aside if you have any questions or concerns. We will be using Class Dojo to enable a strong school to home connection. Please message me via Class Dojo if you would like to schedule a meeting with me during this allotted time at the end of the day. You can download the app right onto your phone. Once you download the app, you will be able to send me messages and view any important updates. This is the quickest way to contact me. Here is the link to sign up: https://www.classdojo.com/invite/?c=C3J47MY Please sign up as soon as possible.
Student attendance is of great importance. A live question will be posted from 7:45am till 8:10am daily on Google Classroom. Students simply respond to the question to be marked present. Once the question closes, students who have not answered the question will be marked absent for the day. Please refer to the Grades 3-5 Technology Handbook on my teacher’s page for helpful tips for starting up Google Classroom with your child. Our class code is adbjzkf.
We will be using Zoom and Google Classroom for lesson presentations and submission of assignments. Over the weekend it is encouraged that students practice logging into Google Classroom prior to the first day of school. This will make it easier to get started on Monday morning. Also, once logged in, ultimately, your child should be set for every school day thereafter. J Below to this you will find my welcome letter and our class schedule can be found in the schedule section of my website. I look forward to working with you this year and helping your child succeed in third grade!
